Who knew Allen Iverson could get you into the mood for the 2013 Sprint Cup schedule? But with testing complete and 2013 Daytona odds out, there are some interesting trends to wet your appetite for NASCAR’s biggest race.

Ford Value

Matt Kenseth and Greg Biffle had two of the three best average finishes at restrictor plate tracks in 2012.  Sure, we’re talking about a new car. But all bets aren’t off, especially when coupled with Roush’s hot and cold pedigree. 12/1 for Biffle and 15/1 for Carl Edwards look appealing. Even Ricky Stenhouse Jr. at 25/1 might be worth a few bucks. Just ask Trevor Bayne.

Gibbs Giving

Matt Kenseth is the defending champion and had the highest average finish at restrictor plate tracks. Kyle Busch was fourth among active drivers. Denny Hamlin…well everyone can’t win.

Change Didn’t Change Much

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has a concussion cloud and remains the race favorite. Kevin Harvick has one foot out the door in preparation for 2014 and has the third best odds. Jeff Burton is 40/1 even though just one driver had a better 2012 on restrictor plate tracks. As much as things have changed in the sport, the status quo still remains in the eyes of oddsmakers.
