AMP ENERGY 500 ODDS

Tallafrickindega.

A word? Not even close. Dreadful grammar? Damn skippy. But when you take a look at the odds for this week’s Amp Energy 500, it’s clear why this bad boy is a track unlike any other on the Sprint Cup circuit.

JIMMIE JOHNSON IS WHERE?

Sure, our research suggests Johnson will win his fourth consecutive Sprint Cup. But three others have better odds than Johnson, a stark contrast from last week in Martinsville where Vegas was begging you not to take the champ.

BRAD KESELOWSKI IS WHERE?

Keselowski won the first race at Talladega this year. Perhaps you remember the finish.

So why in the blue hell is he 30/1 with Paul Menard, whose record  is diddly and poo? (Note: Menard’s best finish was at Talladega.) Pardon me while I leave to go walk my dog all the way to the Mandalay Bay.

MICHAEL WALTRIP RACING, MEET RODNEY DANGERFIELD

David Reutimann won his first career race this season. Still, he’s below Casey Mears. Michael Waltrip has most of his career success on superspeedways and is 40/1, tied with Robby Gordon. Marcos Ambrose has impressed many this year and is dead last in the odds. Can an improving race team get a little respect?

In all seriousness, the odds at this race are bunched more tightly than any other race this year. As unpredictable as racing can be on the track, things could be that much more profitable if you pick the right driver. And yes, we know you would be making these picks in states where such activity is legal. Plus, these are for entertainment purposes only.
