BANK OF AMERICA 500 ODDS

Posted 10/14/11 at 5:00 AM PDT by Dan_Farkas | Email This |

It’s the final night race of the 2011 Sprint Cup schedule. I’m sad too.

Even though Halloween is a few weeks away, suspect some goulish behavior Saturday night. Here’s why.

Teams are well rested:
Crews will be home for two straight weeks. It’s like the eye of a hurricane in the season’s marathon finish. Add friends and family in the stands, and stuff is bound to happen.

If a non Chaser wins at all the rest of the season, it’s this week.

I know Talladega is coming up, but guys like Logano, Reutimann and McMurray succeed here. Plus, the 600 was a fuel duel.

Time is running out.
Three of twelve Chasers are D-U-N done. The field always whittles down to two or three guys. That time is now. So too is it time to make some fake picks, now up a fake 155 dollars after Jimmie Johnson’s win last week.

20 fake dollars on Jimmie Johnson at 9/2

Five time champ. Six time winner at a place that used to be Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Two big finishes in a row. I’m done listing reasons why.

10 fake dollars on Tony Stewart at 10/1

This is the week that determines if Stewart is a contender or not. Seeing how Whopper Man is on the pole, I’ll take my chances.

10 fake dollars on Kurt Busch at 12/1

A great record on the track. Only Johnson and Kyle Busch have led more laps here in the last five years.

5 fake dollars on David Reutimann at 35/1

He has the second best average finish among active drivers. I don’t get it either.

5 fake dollars on Joey Logano at 40/1
Logano has the best average finish among active drivers here. Even more stunning. Plus it would be funny to see Home Depot win at a place that used to be Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

It will be a wild night. Hope you enjoy it. Here’s what The Spread thinks, and insert random catchphrase here.
