In order to pump up interest in the Chase for the Cup, NASCAR has unleashed its top 12 drivers on the talk shows of the world. The media blitz has included an unfortunate pie fight on "Regis & Kelly," a fun appearance by Ryan Newman, Carl Edwards and Kasey Kahne on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (remember the guy who fell over at the Chicago race?) and other lesser lights, all of which I will add below as they come online.
Yes, Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne are wearing the same shirt and Johnson and Denny Hamlin are wearing almost the same jacket. If Regis was not currently evolving into some type of mole-like creature, I am sure he would have noticed this.
By the way, who has a pie fight and doesn't invite Tony Stewart? What a wasted opportunity. So many jokes we'll never be able to make.
The Fallon appearance starts slow, but gets funny, especially when Edwards and Newman find the shock button.
Mark Martin and Jeff Gordon do the best they can with less-than-stellar support. (They must wonder: Is this what it's like to be Bobby Labonte?) At one point the interviewer calls Gordon "Jimmie." Ugh.
Tony Stewart stops eating Whoppers and Brian Vickers pauses from his Red Bull lifestyle long enough to do an interview with FOX Business Network.
