I'm going to agree with both of you. Yes, plate races can be flukes but think about Earnhardt in 98 after trying for 20 years being a 7 time champion but not being able to get the biggest race in all of NASCAR... To say that Carl Edwards should have won the race...No. If Carl had done everything right he could and would have won the race. But the fact of the matter is that Bayne did everything right that he needed to do and in fact won the Daytona 500.
Look at what Jamie McMurray did last year, he won at Indy after the 500. With a few exceptions Michael Waltrip (the worst driver in NASCAR.) and maybe he's not an exception when you win the Daytona 500 you have something to show for and motivation to go out there and do your very best...
The fact that he is from Tennessee, HELL YEAH! V,B!
