It's a good read but what do race fans particularly want? Other than the loss of the Southern 500 on Labor Day weekend I really cannot find anything NASCAR has done that has alienated me. I miss Rockingham as much as all of you but we have to be realistic. It couldn't fill 60,000 seats so who can blame them for taking the race to bigger markets that were selling out at the time? I also read a lot that drivers are all primadonnas who are only in it for the money yet I see Kasey Kahne, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Busch racing in the grassroots that pay dirt for a purse on every off week and then some. I agree they are not as in touch with the fan as the Earnhardt's and Petty's of the previous generation but they are still far more open to their fans than any other sport out there.
