CRASH FOR CLUNKERS

There are two types of people in the world. There are those who would trade in their old cars for a $4,500 credit as part of the Cash for Clunkers program. And there are those who would rather launch their old cars off a cliff into a pit while they drink beer. The people you would find in that second group got together recently in Turtle Lake, Wis.

KARE11 in Minnesota reports, "The idea was inspired last year by boredom and a strong desire to drive something off of a cliff."

The cars' steering and throttle are controlled via remote control. That's what the guys on the four-wheeler are doing during each jump. I could tell you what all was launched off the cliff, but that would spoil the fun. Let's just say, they lived every schoolchild's dream.

The "redneck car launch" was the brainchild of a man - a great man - named Bob Moravitz.
