Danica Patrick keeps NASCAR option open

Danica Patrick tells The New York Times that she is keeping every option on the table after her I.R.L. contract expires this season.

Patrick told Times reporter Paul Oberjuerge, “I’m very flattered everyone is curious. It’s interesting to me as well. Do I stay where I am? Do I try to change? It’s all about evaluating options, and I think that’s something any good businessperson does.”

No female driver has won a Cup race.

Bruce Martin at Sports Illustrated believes that Patrick will not make the leap to the Sprint Cup Series.

He might be right. But let’s hope he’s not.
