It’s looking like this year’s Allstate 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway might not be the epic debacle last year’s race was. Kurt Busch and Kasey Kahne tested Goodyear tires at The Brickyard this week and both drivers said they were a vast improvement over the tires used at last year’s race, which wasn’t so much a race as a series of 10-lap sprints broken up by competition cautions.

Tests prior to those two weeks ago did little to inspire confidence. Kahne says he thinks the new tires will produce a more enjoyable race. You better be right Kasey Kahne, or we’ll show the world this photo again.
