Owner-turned-ESPN-commentator Ray Evernham married driver Erin Crocker in Las Vegas on August 26th, Evernham's birthday. Crocker, as you and Jeremy Mayfield well remember, was a development driver for Evernham until the two began a romantic relationship.

Evernham, 52, and Crocker, 28, began dating in 2006. The relationship became a point of contention when Mayfield, who was released from Evernham Motorsports, alleged in a lawsuit that his boss was an absentee manager largely because of his "close personal relationship with a female driver he engages to drive on NASCAR's ARCA, Truck and Busch Series."

Evernham said the relationship hurt her development as a driver because of all of the negative publicity it generated. Crocker and Evernham parted ways professionally in 2007. Her racing career never recovered. She currently drives in the World of Outlaws series.
