Dear Carl Edwards,

You really screwed up my column. I wrote an entire segment about how the distractions surrounding your contract were hurting teams, impacting lines and making it harder to predict winners.

I was going to blame you for my loss at Indi, not Paul Menard who actually won the thing. Yes, I just typed that.

Down a fake 110 dollars,
I was going to tout Matt Kenseth at the real leader of Roush Fenway, David Ragan as ready to step up and Ricky Stenhouse as the guy who should get your ride when you left for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Then you stuck with Roush. I’m happy for you. Joey Logano is happy for you and himself. Ricky Stenhouse and Trevor Bayne are happy but muttering when their Sprint Cup chance will come with a full ride. Other drivers looking for a ride are sad because there will again be fewer full time spots next year without a fourth Gibbs car.

This ends a huge story impacting thousands of people.  Big enough to put a big track like Pocono on the backburner. Oh yeah, there’s a race Sunday. Almost forgot, didn’t you?

Ten fake dollars on Carl Edwards at 10/1
I’m kind of obligated after writing an entire column about the guy.

Ten fake dollars on Kurt Busch at 10/1
For some reason, Kurt Busch has gotten on my nerves this year. If he wins, I win fake money. If he loses, I don’t feel like I lose all that much.  Actually, I would feel worse for Pennzoil than I would Penske.

Ten fake dollars on Kevin Harvick at 12/1
Take Kurt Busch and multiply by 1,000. Plus, he has four finishes of fifth or better in his last nine tries at Pocono. Dude is due for a win. I might be due for a Bud after typing that.

Ten fake dollars on Matt Kenseth at 14/1
Best value out there.  No other Sprint Cup contender has these kind of odds. I’ll keep taking them…I’ll probably keep losing.

Ten fake dollars on Tony Stewart at 14/1

Over the last five years, only Jeff Gordon has a better average finishing position at Pocono.

Denny Hamlin and Jeff Gordon have four of the last ten wins here. I’m not picking either of them. I’m nervous too. Here’s what The Spread thinks. Enjoy the weekend and the race. Now insert random catchphrase here.
