The GP2 is a feeder series for Formula 1, the equivalent of its minor league, or Nationwide Series. Last weekend at a GP2 race in Portugal, Russian driver Vitaly Petrov, who was in the fourth position, failed to get his car off the line at the start of the race. Carnage ensued.
None of the drivers were seriously injured, although all of the F1 wannabes involved no doubt had a great story to tell that night over cigarettes and chardonnay at the local discotheque.
