JOIN NASCAR DRIVERS FOR VACATION GET-A-WAYS

Posted 07/15/09 at 4:43 PM PDT by Chris M. | Email This |

Every year fans take advantage of the two-week break between races in July to travel with their favorite drivers in exclusive NASCAR-themed vacation packages.  Here is a rundown of the five most-popular driver vacation get-a-way packages.

Bubble City Water Park Get-a-Way
Bubble City Waterpark of Pittsburgh has never been so much fun!  Join Kyle Busch, Mark Martin and Matt Kenseth ... and Greg Biffle and David Reutimann (and probably Clint Bowyer and Brian Vickers ... and Jeff Burton and maybe even Juan Pablo Montoya ... and Kasey Kahne is not out of the woods either ... and Ambrose and Newman).  All of these men are bringing their suits for some summer fun at Bubble City Water Park!

Darrell Waltrip's Martinsville Hootenanny
This trip is five days long, all of which is spent listening to Waltrip talk.  Listen as racing legend Darrell Waltrip describes Martinsville Speedway.  Hear why that track is his favorite. See him talk about how it's the smallest track in NASCAR. Taste the words as Waltrip speaks about his favorite concession  stand at the track.  Participants also will enjoy a verbal tour of pit road while Waltrip recounts each of his 60 races in excruciating detail.

The Chevy Motorsports Salute to Detroit
Join Chevy drivers on a tour of their favorite Detroit hotspots and dine at the finest restaurants elbow-to-elbow with NASCAR greats.  Because of funding cuts, the following drivers will not be appearing: Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick, Ryan Newman, Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Mark Martin, Juan Pablo Montoya and Clint Bowyer. But Casey Mears will be there!

The Chicago Sausage Festival
It's a Chicago-style sausage party with Kurt Busch and Jimmie Johnson!  Enjoy the best of Chicago's street food (brats, hot dogs and gyros) with NASCAR's travel pals. Is cheddarwurst your favorite?  No worries, no one knows cheesy like these two.  Warning: do not bump into either tour guide during the trip. Any contact will cause both of them to give you the silent treatment and will lead to them pouting continually.

Tony Stewart's 'Speed' Tour of Columbus, Ind.
Buckle up as Smoke takes you on a wild tour through his hometown of Columbus, Ind.  Stewart will drive you by his old house, the place where he's going to build his new house and the Olive Garden.  This tour takes about eight minutes (depending on the traffic light on Central Avenue.)  After that, you're on your own for the rest of the week.
