JUNIOR'S CREW CHIEF FIRED

Tony Eury Jr. is out as Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s crew chief. Eury will be replaced by Lance McGrew, who will take over an interim basis at Pocono next week. Team manager Brian Whitesell will serve as the crew chief at Dover. "Our performance hasn't been where it should be,'' team owner Rick Hendrick said in a release. "It's impossible to pin that on any one factor, but a change is the right decision at this point. We have a plan in place, and we're going to move forward with it.'' Earnhardt has finished 27th or worse in three straight races, including 40th at the Coca-Cola 600.
Junior's season has been marred by mistakes on pit road, missed pit road stops, bad luck and unnecessary accidents like this one at Daytona:

As a Dale Jr fan I wish Tony Jr all the best but there has been problems here for a while. Jr Nation will be happy but how quickly we forget the name Pete Rondeau and how badly Lil E was after the crew chief swap at DEI. It is still too new to me but to say Lance is the right man for the job....Maybe... but most likely not. To the media that said Jr would quit before he ran with another Crew Chief you sure don't know the fire in this North Carolina Native and you look very stupid now. Anyway's a change is here at last. Good Luck!
