MARK MARTIN WINS LIFELOCK.COM 400
Mark Martin won his fourth race of the season - and a cool million bucks - at the LifeLock.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway on Saturday night. Martin and Jeff Gordon, who finished second, won $1 million from LifeLock for finishing in the top two of both of the sponsor's races. LifeLock also sponsored the June race in Michigan where the Hendrick teammates scored an identical finish. Martin took the lead with 13 laps to go and pulled away on a restart with three laps remaining to win a race he and Jimmie Johnson had dominated.
"That was fun," the 50-year-old driver said after emerging from his car in Victory Lane. "That's what life's all about right there. (The crew) deserved to win. We could have parked the car yesterday with an hour left in practice. I knew it was awesome."
Kasey Kahne, Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin finished behind Martin and Gordon. Johnson finished eighth. The top Chase leaders remained unchanged. With the win, Martin moved up two spots to 11th. Greg Biffle fell out of the top 12 to 13th. Kahne was the big mover, jumping up four spots to eighth place.
