MISS USA LOVES NASCAR

As you have no doubt heard by now, Venezuela's Stefania Fernandez won the Miss Universe pageant Sunday night. For those of you who do not follow the international beauty scene as closely as I do, Venezuela has won back-to-back titles. The South American country, which appears to be run by a character from a Tom Clancy novel, is suddenly the Hendrick Motorsports of international beauty.
The United States was represented by Kristen Dalton, who made the top ten before being eliminated. Dalton, who hails from Wilmington, N.C., is a NASCAR fan. She showed her love for the sport by donning a NASCAR-themed outfit as her "national costume." That outfit: a helmet by Sam Bass and a red zip-front, long-sleeved, cutoff unitard decorated with silver sequins and rhinestones. It is pretty much what I imagine NASCAR drivers would wear every week if Scott Speed had any say in the matter.
