MOST EXPENSIVE CRASHES IN NASCAR HISTORY

The financial Web site 24/7 Wall Street crunched the numbers and came up with a list of the ten most expensive crashes in NASCAR history. (And by history, the site means since 2002.) Each estimate covers the cost of wrecked cars and track damage. The most expensive crash? That would be the Sam Hornish Jr. and Jeff Gordon wreck at Watkins Glen. That one cost a cool $688,000, most of which probably went to finally getting Hornish driving lessons.

That can't even be close to right. They do not analyze a single "Big One." The Watkins Glen crash from the year before (Gilliland/Hornish/Labonte/Papis/Blaney alone would have cost more than the Hornish/Gordon (and by the way, Jeff Burton took a solid shot, too), not to mention any superspeedway wreck. I've never heard of this website but this is really shoddy work.
