PATRICK CARPENTIER GETS STIMULUS

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) brought relief to GM and Chrysler, both of which heavily fund NASCAR.Patrick Carpentier will race Tommy Baldwin Racing’s #36 Toyota starting this weekend at Atlanta. Carpentier will also run at Richmond, the first four races of the Chase and who knows where else depending on how this trial run goes. Wave Energy will be the primary sponsor with this swanky new design.

Now as the economy tries to sputter forward, a stimulus act has made its way north of the border and south to the land of the rising sun.

Carpentier will also run at Richmond, the first four races of the Chase and who knows where else depending on how this trial run goes. Carpentier has six starts this year, with his best work on road courses. In 2008, the Canadian held Kasey Kahne’s bags at Evernham/Gillette Evernham/Petty Motorsports/whatever it will be called next year. The former F-1 driver never finished higher than 18th at the six tracks of this trial run and will have to qualify in order to participate. Carpentier was also removed from his ride/poop canned after the Kansas race; so, this NAFTA supported stimulus package may be short-lived.

Let’s hope his qualifying works out better than at Montreal, where rain made it hard for Carpentier to see. If you haven’t seen the video from these rain events, click this link, watch the video and then stop slacking.
