Journeyman David Reutimann won his first Sprint Cup race on Monday, emerging victorious at a rain-shortened, much-delayed Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte.

Reutimann took the lead when he did not pit during a caution for rain on lap 222. Officials ended the race two hours later. He won without leading a lap. The race was scheduled for Sunday, but was moved to Monday because of rain.

"When you envision winning your first Sprint Cup race, you envision it different," Reutimann said. "But it’s so hard, we’ll take it any way we can. We got this one today, hopefully the next one, we’ll earn it."

The top five drivers in the points standings retained their places, with Jeff Gordon remaining in first. No drivers entered or exited the top 12.
