SHANNON SPAKE PICS

Spake and Little stand out in the Sprint Cup's male-dominated garage. ESPN was the first network to regularly use two female pit reporters in its coverage of NASCAR's top series.

Spake began covering NASCAR in 2003 when she became a reporter for the local FOX affiliate in Charlotte. In 2004 she joined the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats and worked as a reporter for the team’s regional sports network, C-SET. She also has done work for ESPN Radio as a college football sideline reporter.

In addition to ESPN, Spake has worked for SPEED. In an interview with godanriver.com, Spake said, I'm doing exactly what I want to be doing, and it's so much fun. It is a blast. I'm so fortunate to be doing what I do."

Spake is so popular that she received numerous write-in votes from fans in Playboy's 2008 Sexiest Sportscaster Poll, even though she was - unbelievably - left off the ballot.

Spake married land developer Jerry McSorley in a ceremony in Ireland in 2008. They were engaged in Italy. Spake and McSorley share Irish and Italian heritage. They allowed Carolina Bride to publish photos of their wedding day.
