SUBWAY FRESH FIT 500 ODDS

What in the name of Trevor Bayne is going on?

I’ve never been so happy to lose 50 fake dollars on last week’s Daytona surprise/stunner/you’ve got to be kidding me event.

But as great a story as Sunday was, the real world continues. And then some.

Daytona/Schmaytona

The Daytona 500 winner is 100/1. I’m not sure that sentence has ever been typed. Oh yeah, David Ragan had a real chance to win. He’s 100/1. Ditto for Brad Keselowski. And Paul Menard, who led the Datyona 500 (I know), is 200/1. How’s that for squashing dreams?

Who is taking the plunge?

Someone is going the take the plunge and challenge for the 2011 Sprint Cup. All of those contenders are lumped together. If you can find that contender, there’s great value out there. Too bad I have no clue who this year’s Denny Hamlin will be.

So now what?

20 fake dollars on Jimmie Johnson at 5/1
15 fake dollars on Carl Edwards at 7/1
10 fake dollars on Mark Martin at 10/1
1 fake dollar on Trevor Bayne at 100/1
1 fake dollar on Brad Keselowski at 100/1
1 fake dollar on David Ragan at 100/1
1 fake dollar on AJ Allmendinger at 100/1
1 fake dollar on Paul Menard at 100/1

I don’t know what in the name of 2011 is going on. I just hope my bases are covered. Here’s what The Spread thinks, and insert random catchphrase here.

Denny Hamlin 5/1
Jimmie Johnson 5/1
Kyle Busch 7/1
Carl Edwards 7/1
Kevin Harvick 12/1

So is Paul 100/1 or 200/1? The article is different from the list.
