EDWARDS GETS THREE WEEKS’ PROBATION FOR WRECKING KESELOWSKI

NASCAR is holding true to its word. The boys will have at it in 2010. NASCAR slapped Carl Edwards on the wrist for intentionally wrecking Brad Keselowski during last weekend's race in Atlanta. On Tuesday NASCAR president Mike Helton said that the decision to give Edwards three weeks' probation was based on two separate issues - the wreck itself and the fact that the car went airborne.Did Edwards get off easy? Or was it correct for NASCAR to punish the intent, rather than the outcome? E ...

EDWARDS FLIPS KESELOWSKI AT ATLANTA

Down 156 laps because of an earlier crash with Keselowski, Edwards turned - and subsequently flipped - Keselowski with three laps to go at the Kobalt Tools 500. It was clearly an act of revenge. Edwards admitted as much, although he said he did not intend to send Keselowski airborne. In a television interview, Keselowski said that Edwards almost killed him a ...

J.J. YELEY COMEBACK

Remember J.J. Yeley? He was the boy wonder at Joe Gibbs Racing who was shoved out upon the arrival of Kyle Busch. Yeley is trying to mount a comeback of sorts. First step on the comeback trail: the comeback press release. Hey, at least he faught the urge to put the word out on Twitter, Denny Hamlin-style. The year 2009 has sucked for Yeley. Not only was he without a full-time ride for the year, but he also broke three vertebrae in an August crash at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas. Yeley said he ...

Have you ever noticed that trouble strikes when you least expect it? For Chase leader Jimmie Johnson, that was the case Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway. With a 184-point advantage over teammate Mark Martin, Johnson simply needed to finish 10th or better in the final three races in order to claim his fourth straight title. After making it through the chaos in the closing laps at Talladega, Johnson was unable to make it three full laps at the Dickies 500, where he was the favorite to win. Exiti ...

JIMMIE JOHNSON CRASHES AT TEXAS

Jimmie Johnson's incredible run of great racing and good luck came to a stunning halt at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday when David Reutimann sent Sam Hornish Jr. into the points leader on lap 3 at the Dickies 500. Johnson slammed the inside wall, necessitating an hour-plus trip to the garage. The three-time champion returned to the track on Lap 115 in a rebuilt car, which bore no sponsor decals on the front and rear. Johnson's fourth championship, which looked like a lock before the race, sudden ...
