PATRICK TO DRIVE NO. 7 CAR FOR JR MOTORSPORTS IN NATIONWIDE SERIES

Danica Patrick is coming to NASCAR. On Tuesday Patrick said that she will race the No. 7 car for JR Motorsports part-time next season in the Nationwide Series. At a press conference that was streamed live to the Internet, Patrick made the announcement alongside JR Motorsports co-owner Kelley Earnhardt and Bob Parsons, CEO of GoDaddy.com, which will be her primary sponsor. Tony Eury Jr. will be Patrick's crew chief. And now we'll never have to write about Danica Patrick ever again. Other detai ...

DANICA PATRICK’S ‘BIG ANNOUNCEMENT’

I apologize for the two Danica posts in a row. Today is the first day of our top 15 stories of 2009 series and you-know-who clocked in at No. 15. In any case, Patrick's "big announcement" this morning was somewhat of a dud, unless you're one of the eight IndyCar fans left in the country, and even then, it was probably still a dud. Patrick announced that she has agreed to race IndyCars for Andretti Autosport for the next three seasons and unveiled her new GoDaddy car on "Good Morni ...

HENDRICK SAYS NO DEAL WITH DANICA

Danica Patrick is coming to NASCAR, right? Done deal. Sure thing. No brainer ... right? Not so fast, says team owner Rick Hendrick. On Sunday Hendrick said he has no deal in place to bring the IndyCar star Patrick to NASCAR, and added that there is no certainty she'll be driving stock cars next season. A deal between Hendrick and Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s JR Motorsports and Patrick to run a limited Nationwide schedule has long been rumored. From Hendrick's comments, it sounds like Patrick's reps from ...

DANICA PATRICK HAS SOMETHING IN COMMON WITH JENNIFER ANISTON

It seems that Danica Patrick has plenty of friends these days. Plenty of offers to race on plenty of circuits with plenty of sponsors. While the details roll out, it seems like a perfect chance to put things in perspective. While I was sitting in Las Vegas this weekend watching word of Patrick’s new endeavor scroll on ESPN, I noticed the flat screen to my left was showing an old episode of "Friends." Got me thinking about how Patrick's situation is a lot like the show. Cases i ...

DANICA WATCH: FOX COMMENTATORS SLAM PATRICK

On the track, Patrick finished fifth out of 22 drivers at Kansas Speedway. The next IRL race is the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 24, where she will certainly be the center of attention.Off the track, the two-time Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model lit up the blogosphere when it was announced that she will appear on the June cover of Shape magazine. Danica Patrick keeps NASCAR option open

Danica Patrick tells The New York Times that she is keeping every option on the table after her I.R.L. contract expires this season. Patrick told Times reporter Paul Oberjuerge, “I’m very flattered everyone is curious. It’s interesting to me as well. Do I stay where I am? Do I try to change? It’s all about evaluating options, and I think that’s something any good businessperson does.” No female driver has won a Cup race. Bruce Martin at Sports Illustrated ...

Danica Patrick is Hot, But, Well, You Know, She Can’t Really DRIVE

So poor little Danica, she just can't catch herself a break over there in those silly little Indy cars ... another race, another crash, another DNF not her fault. This time, the Greatest Hot Driver Never To Catch A Break In Any Race She's Ever Run was undone by some stupid rookie who actually tried to pass the Greatest Hot Driver Never To Catch A Break In Any Race She's Ever Run! Can you believe the unmitigated gall of that insolent little twit? Do these kids have no idea who&nbs ...

Biba Golic Needs to Think About Her Future in NASCAR

This list of the 50 hottest women in sports includes no one from NASCAR, which is problematic. It does, however, have Danica Patrick ranked No. 7. This list of the 50 Hottest Women in Sports? It sucks on so many different levels. For the first and most important reason (at least as far as this site is concerned), it doesn't include anyone from NASCAR. Sure, you'll argue that there are no women drivers in NASCAR, and use that specious line of reasoning to justify the curious ove ...

On Second Thought, Danica Patrick Would Look Good in the Cup Garage

In an earlier incarnation of this site, I took another writer to task for suggesting that NASCAR needs to convince Danica Patrick to come join the Sprint Cup Series fray. Well, it's clear to me that I didn't think this matter through clearly enough. Not at all. And I'm enough of a man to admit when I'm wrong and, it just so happens that I think I might have been a little hasty in reaching a conclusion on this important matter. Much, much too hasty. Too hasty indeed.Having o ...
