BRISTOL CRASH VIDEOS

The Sprint Cup stops at Bristol Motor Speedway this Saturday for the most exciting race of the year - the Sharpie 500 under the lights.  Some drivers have likened racing at Bristol to running around in a large concrete cereal bowl.  This venue produces some unbelievably tight racing and some amazing crashes.  Two of the most amazing - and a few other hair-raisers - can be found below. Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s season of unbridled, unrelenting misery continued Monday at Watkins Glen. Earnhardt hit the tire barrier hard, but climbed out of his car unscathed. Junior was competitive early on until a pit road speeding penalty sent him to the back of the pack. Yes, it has been that kind of year. Junior sounds like a guy figh ...

PENNSYLVANIA 500 CRASHES

You can't accuse NASCAR of "phantom debris" on this one. On lap 62 of the Pennsylvania 500 part of the caution light at the start/finish line fell onto the track. Leader Denny Hamlin (where was his spotter?) ran over the debris, but it did not appear to damage his car. The "lights-out" moment (below) was just one of the close calls and crashes on the track Monday. A cut tire at The Brickyard on Sunday sent Kyle Busch into the wall, back to the garage and out of the top 12 for the Chase. Busch currently sits in 14th place with six races to go before the Chase field is finalized. "I think it's pretty self-explanatory that we're trying to fight for a spot in the Chase," Busch said.
