GT5 JAPAN RELEASE DATE: MARCH 2010

Bad news from the Tokyo Game Show. Gran Turismo 5, the next game to feature NASCAR cars and tracks, will not be released in Japan until March 2010. That means the American version probably won't be released until after. No word on what caused the delay, but my guess is Polyphony wants to get the damage physics on David Stremme's car just right. GRAN TURISMO 5 PSP CREDITS TEASER

Those sneaky bastards at Polyphony Digital snuck a Gran Turismo 5 teaser into the credits of Gran Turismo PSP. The teaser includes a few seconds of new NASCAR coverage. (Both hands on the keyboard, please.) The video quality is not great, but the way info is being dribbled out for GT5, we'll take what we can get. GRAN TURISMO 5 RELEASE DATE

Sony distributed a pamphlet at Gamescon in Germany last week that says Gran Turismo 5 will hit stores by the end of 2009. So now we finally have a date. Or at least, a quarter. The PS3 game will feature NASCAR cars and tracks, although how many remains unknown. More information will - probably - be revealed at the Tokyo Game Show in September. GRAN TURISMO 5 UPDATE

The video game convention Gamescon is taking place in Germany this week. While Polyphony Digital, maker of forthcoming Gran Turismo 5, did not take part in the PlayStation 3 press conference, it did mark the occasion by updating the Japanese version of its Web site with new information about GT5, which will feature NASCAR.
