Roush Fenway Racing and Hendrick Motorsports spent last weekend quashing rumors that they are bidding for Danica Patrick. One rumor that made the rounds online had Patrick replacing Dale Earnhardt Jr. at Hendrick. Given how much money Earnhardt generates, that one is hard to believe. Also, replacing the most popular driver in the sport can’t be an ideal situation for Patrick.

While writers across the country continue to speculate as to whether or not Danica Patrick is going to NASCAR, it has been reported that the U.S.-based Formula One team, USF1, is considering Patrick for the 2010 Grand Prix series.

Peter Windsor, sporting director for the USF1 team, which is based in Charlotte, suggests progress in fielding a team, even as the future of the sport remains up in the air.

Windsor said, “We're getting near to the point where we start looking at drivers and Danica is on our list for sure, because she's the best-placed American in the leading single-seater championship of the United States. She's doing a really great job."

Marco Andretti says Danica Patrick is not a good teammate. Following the race in Texas last weekend, Andretti accused Patrick of racing him too hard - for fifth place. “The toughest people out there passing me are my teammates, and I don’t get that,” Andretti said. “I think three of the four of us get what the camaraderie of Andretti Green Racing is.”
