  • Vickers is smart. He keeps this up, people may actually know who he is. Of course, there are millions of people who will remember his ONE win in the Sprint/Nextel/Winston Cup in 2006. And, of course there are his THREE Busch/Nationwide wins, so you add a few more million fans. No, no reason at all for him to pick a possibly legitimate beef with the all-great Jr. Why would someone who millions adore want to position himself for a season long feud with the guy who gets the most TV mentions per broadcast (outside Digger)?

  • I may be in the minority, but in the past I have liked Fox's coverage. Of the TV analysts, DW provides the most relevant information from the driver perspective combined with an obvious passion for the sport. Catchphrases or not, he's entertaining and informative. That being said, Sunday's broadcast was crap. Having watched much of the Super Bowl-length pre-race, I can't point to a single bit of relevant news or an interview that I even remembered five minutes after it aired. It was a waste of time. The rest of the broadcast just seemed way over the top. Like someone poured about 15 Red Bulls into the crew's coffee. For a race without a ton of excitement, you'd think it was the freakin' greatest race ever listening to the FOX broadcasters. And Digger? My kids love Digger. Once. After that, Digger has done it's job, lured the kiddies into the race, and they'd rather watch cars go fast. Maybe FOX thinks an America in recession needs cartoon gophers to accepot motorsports...but we're not that dumb, or broke...

  • Let's see, Bread - it's boring. I still eat it. Oatmeal cookies - ditto. I love oatmeal cookies. Bananas - booooooorrrrring. Great post-workout snack. Jeep - old and boring. I drive one. CNN - dull, dull, and, ummm, boring. I watch it. There are boring things in life. Jimmie Johnson is one of them. Yet, on the track, he's a heck of a driver and brings a ton to any race he's in. Anyone who watches NASCAR knows these two facts. Is he a crazed driver like Mr, Three-Wide-By-Himself, Kyle Busch? No. Johnson doesn't have to because he's not only talented, he's smart. When I want excitement in the post-race interview, I'll take Stewart, Busch, Harvick, et. al. But, because he's bland doesn't take away a thing from what Johnson does on the track.
