Who Says the Average NASCAR Fan Isn't Bright?

FOXSports.com has a poll on its NASCAR homepage. The question: "Who was best at Martinsville?" The choices: Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin, or Jeff Gordon. Seventy-four percent of the respondents answered ... Jeff Gordon?!?
That's right: seventy-four percent of the more than 65,000 people who took the time to vote didn't pick the winner (Johnson), nor did they select the guy who finished second and led the most laps (Hamlin). Instead, they went with the guy who finished ... fourth.
And to think the uninitiated believe NASCAR fans are unintelligent.
