WHY YOUR DRIVER WILL LOSE THE CHASE: DENNY HAMLIN

Denny Hamlin has always been good. But 2009 has been a breakout season for the rising Joe Gibbs Racing star. Too bad his Chase chances will stall, because nobody is winning the 2009 Chase, especially not Denny Hamlin. Here’s why:
You play to win the game
Hamlin has six wins on NASCAR’s top circuit. None of those wins came on a Chase track. A driver has never won the Chase without winning a Chase race. Hello?

It’s un-Native American
Ever since Daniel Snyder bought the Washington Redskins, people affiliated with the Redskins have done diddly, poo and not much else. Snyder even brought back Hall of Fame Coach Joe Gibbs to restore the glory days. He went 30-34 in four seasons.
Now Joe Gibbs is back to being the coolest grandpa figure you could ever have, while devoting his time and effort to the team that bears his name. While I’m happy Hamlin will hear Harry Potter updates from Gramps, the ghost of Daniel Snyder will curse his title hopes.

Nobody is winning the 2009 Chase, especially not Denny Hamlin.
